Sarah O. Rawleigh

I am a bilingual (in Spanish) psychotherapist and a clinical social worker. I am located in Greensboro, North Carolina, however, my clients are located throughout the state. I completed my Master of Social Work degree at UNC Chapel Hill. For the first five years of my career as a therapist I worked as a school-based therapist, providing individual and group psychotherapy for students, and also in a community mental health clinic where I specialized in serving the Hispanic/ Latinx community. My clients have ranged in age from 6- to 75-years old.
I am certified through the EMDR International Association in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and have received extensive training in Internal Family Systems and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I attained fluency in Spanish while living and working in Spain, studying in Guatemala, and working with the diverse Hispanic/Latinx communities in central North Carolina.
I am a member of the Climate Psychology Alliance of North American and co-coordinator for the CPA’s North Carolina chapter. I incorporate my deep care and appreciation for the natural world into my work as a clinical social worker by offering Climate Cafes and helping clients who come to me with climate anxiety and other psychosomatic responses to the climate crisis.
Long before becoming a therapist I wanted to be an environmental scientist and obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Conservation Biology from Warren Wilson College.
